Step 1: Energy and Drainage
WHY CHOOSE STEP 1?
The products in Step 1 deliver key nutrients for supporting mitochondrial health and establishing healthy drainage pathways — both of which are essential before entering periods of detoxification. This also helps make the detox process smoother and helps with energy production as your patient moves through the protocol.
Step 1 consists of BC-ATP, BioToxin Binder, CT-Minerals, and KL Support. BC-ATP assists the body with ATP production, while CT-Minerals support mental clarity, immune function, cellular repair, and detoxification. KL Support helps maintain kidney and liver function. BioToxin Binder assists in the body’s natural detoxification processes and supports the gut microbiome, which in turn aids healthy digestion.
WHAT IS INCLUDED?
For those who are sensitive, it's recommended to introduce one product at a time in the order listed below. Continue taking CT-Minerals through Step 2, until the bottle is finished.
BC-ATP: The highly charged organic acids support metabolism and the ATP cycle in being at peak efficiency. These carbons also assist in the body’s natural detoxification processes and contribute to a balanced gut microbiome. In clinical practice, BC-ATP is generally well-tolerated by sensitive individuals and may help improve protocol tolerance.
BioToxin Binder: Promotes the body’s natural ability to detoxify and lends increased support to the gut microbiome, which optimizes immunity and digestive function.
CT-Minerals: Provides minerals derived from fulvic acid. Sourced from the soil and decomposed plant life, these naturally occurring minerals are typically easier for the body to digest, absorb, and utilize. This bioavailable formula supports mental clarity, energy production, cellular repair, and immunity.
KL-Support: Combines herbs and nutrients traditionally used to support kidney and liver health, including beetroot, gromwell root, gynostemma, marshmallow root, milk thistle seed, NAC, and parsley leaf. As an integral part of the body’s cleaning and filtering system, supporting kidney and liver function is essential for healthy drainage and detoxification during the protocol.
WHAT IS THE STEP 1 DOSING?
FAQs:
Advanced TUDCA and Bowel Mover were previously included in this step. Why were they removed?
Recently, small modifications have been made to our protocols to make them more effective, better tolerated, and highly customizable.
In clinical practice, we noted that Advanced TUDCA could contribute to increased fatigue and other symptoms in some individuals, and was better tolerated in Steps 2,3, and 4. For this reason, Advanced TUDCA is now included in Step 3 of the Foundation Protocol.
Bowel Mover is now a protocol add-on and not included in any step or phase, taking into consideration that every person will require additional digestive support.
Can the supplements in Step 1 cause or worsen existing symptoms?
Since all of the supplements in this step support the body's natural detoxification processes, it's possible to experience mild detox symptoms, such as bloating, fatigue, constipation, headaches, or gas. This will depend on an individual's toxic load and varies from person to person.
If an individual experiences excess reactions, we recommend introducing one supplement at a time (and starting with a half dose) in the order listed on the dosing chart.
Note that if the supplements in this step aren't well tolerated at a regular or half does, it's recommended for the patient to do the Comprehensive Protocol instead of the Foundational Protocol- as this suggests the body's needs for support are greater.
Do any of the supplements interact with medication?
Always consult a licensed healthcare practitioner when introducing a new supplement. As a general guideline, it's recommended to take all supplements at least two hours away from prescription medications.
Do the supplements have to be taken with food, or can they be taken without?
All of the other supplements in this step are recommended to take between meals for maximum potency. However, if patients are sensitive to any of the ingredients, they can take them with meals.
What's the difference between the Foundational Protocol and the Comprehensive Protocol?
The Foundational Protocol is a four-month approach to supporting detoxification. It's intended for individuals who are looking to periodically support cleansing for an overall wellness boost. It's designed to balance the gut microbiome, increase energy levels, and support digestive and immune health- but is not as extensive as the Comprehensive Protocol, which covers more specific areas of health.
The Comprehensive Protocol is an in-depth approach to supporting detoxification, intended for those who are looking to address their health at the root level and require increased immune and gut support. Completing the protocol over a prolonged period (9+ months) provides the body with sufficient time (and nutrients) to support system balance through detoxification.
