Why is Fish Oil Important?

Fish oil from clean waters is a superior source of omega-3 fatty acids because it is primarily the long-chain variety, EPA and DHA.  The fish oil should be purified of environmental toxins through a molecular distillation process and tested to be safe and pure by a 3^rd party lab.  This is called a pharmaceutical grade, and it should appear on the container.

Heavy Metals:

All oils used in Nordic Naturals have been thoroughly examined and shown no detectable heavy metals when tested by the Global Organization for EPA and DHA Omega-3 (GOED) and The Council for Responsible Nutrition (CRN). 

Dioxins:

All the oils used in the Nordic Naturals products have been examined and shown to have no detectable dioxins or furans when tested down to 2.0 ppt.  This is the testing methodology established by the World Health Organization. 

PCBs: 

All the Nordic brand oils show no detectable PCBs when tested down to 1.0 ppt.  The GOED limit for dioxin-like PCBs is 3.0 ppt.  This is the toxicity equivalent established by the WHO.  

California’s Proposition 65:

California’s Prop 65 focuses on total PCBs and establishes an upper limit of 0.09 ppm.  Nordic products are the only fish oil on the market that have surpassed this very tight standard, as documented by 3^rd party analysis. 

Freshness: 

Nordic uses an oxygen-free, chemical-free manufacturing process that maintains the extreme freshness of all the fish oil products.  Freshness is measured with peroxide values, and the lower the value, the fresher.  Nordic’s peroxide values. The peroxide values are well below the European Pharmacopoeia Standard limits.

What Is The Recommended Dosage?

Normal Dosage: Two softgels daily, with food or as directed by your healthcare professional.

When introducing a new supplement, we recommend taking the lowest dose for 2-3 days. As tolerated, increase the dose until you have reached the recommended normal or advanced guidelines. Reduce to a tolerable dosage if adverse effects occur.
